Bio · in my own words

Marian Dang is a Vietnamese-Dutch executive and sustainability strategist for founders and senior leaders working between Asia and Europe. Born in the Netherlands to Vietnamese parents, she holds an MSc in Chinese Economy & Business, cum laude, from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. Her corporate career ran through Google, where she worked in strategy and business development for APAC and received the Google Business Impact Award in 2016, and H&M Group, where she was Regional Head of Sustainability and Public Affairs for South and Southeast Asia from 2016 to 2023. She now runs Rise | Beyond, an independent leadership and strategy practice, and founded EcoPresence™, a regenerative leadership practice. She advises boards and executives on impact and commercial strategy, cross-cultural leadership and high-stakes communication, and speaks in English, Dutch, Vietnamese and Spanish. She is based in Amsterdam and Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnamese-Dutch. Born in the Netherlands to Vietnamese parents, educated at RSM Erasmus University in Rotterdam. My career has been built along the Asia–Europe axis. Not a generic 'global' practice, but a specific corridor I know in both directions.

My corporate years sit inside three industries with very different commercial logics: tech at Google, then retail and fashion at H&M, where I served as Regional Head of Sustainability and Public Affairs for South and Southeast Asia. That breadth, named in specifics, is what lets me sit in a room with a fashion executive, a tech founder, and an impact organisation and move all three forward.

Most advisors pick a side. They work on commercial growth or on the impact mandate. I have spent a decade inside the seam where the two have to hold together. Strategy that does not survive a P&L conversation is not strategy. Impact that doesn't earn its keep does not last.

The thing people notice first is communication. Voice as a leadership tool: making complex ideas land across cultures, hierarchies, and competing agendas. It is what shifts rooms. I work with founders, senior leaders, and organisations who are serious about building something that performs commercially and leaves a mark.
